Sacklyn Roofing has been serving homeowners and commercial clients across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire and southern Worcestershire since 2004 – but the story starts a good deal earlier than that.
Keith Sacklyn began his roofing career in the late 1970s as a teenager, learning the trade from the ground up. After nearly two decades perfecting his craft, he established the business in 1995.
In April 2004, Keith formally established the business as K. Sacklyn & Co Ltd. In October 2021, reflecting the next chapter of the business, the company became Sacklyn Roofing Ltd – the name it trades under today. The commitment to doing things right, and standing behind the work, has never changed.
The Next Generation
Daniel Sacklyn grew up around roofing. School summer holidays meant time on the tools with his dad and the team – learning materials, watching how jobs were approached, understanding why doing it properly the first time matters.
After university – where summers still meant roofing – Dan spent twelve months in Sydney, Australia, working on slate roofing projects before returning home and joining the business full time in 2016. That combination of formal education, hands-on experience from a young age, and time working in a completely different market gave him a perspective on the trade that’s genuinely hard to replicate.
Dan holds formal qualifications across the specialist areas the business is known for – including full certification in rubber roofing and GRP installation, and a City & Guilds Level 3 in lead bossing and welding. These aren’t tick-box qualifications; they reflect the standard of work the business is built on.
With over ten years of full-time experience and roofing quite literally in the blood, Dan now runs the business day to day – out meeting customers, assessing jobs, and making sure every project is delivered to the standard the Sacklyn name stands for.
The Team
Sacklyn Roofing is a small, skilled team – and that’s deliberate. Every job gets proper attention, not a rushed crew under pressure to be somewhere else.
The core team includes Dan, his younger brother Ewan, and Luke – between them covering the full range of roofing work the business takes on, from emergency repairs and full re-roofs to specialist heritage materials and modern flat roofing systems.
For larger projects, trusted subcontractors join the team when needed. For summer 2026, that includes George and Andy – both known to the family and brought in because they work to the same standard, not just because they’re available.
